In 1949 in Kobe/Japan, a man called Kihachiro Onitsuka had a vision: he wanted to inspire young people in his country to start enjoying life again in the dismal post-war era by doing sport. This idea gave rise to the Onitsuka Tiger company that devoted endless energy to developing the best sports shoes in the world. In 1977, the originally small shoe company became ASICS (lat. Anima Sana in Corpore Sano – a sound mind in a sound body) that is now one of the top five manufacturers of sports articles worldwide.
The eventful and moving past of the brand lives on in the Onitsuka Tiger and ASICS Sportstyle collections that both leave their mark on the world’s streets as must-have streetwear. The current highlight of the Sportstyle line is without a doubt the Aaron that is taking the sneaker scene by storm with its clean look in canvas and leather.
